How To Care For Your Sandy Slime

Congrats on your new slime! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, taking care of your slime will keep it fresh, fun, and fabulous for hours of enjoyment. Follow these simple tips and tricks to become a slime expert in no time!

1. Getting Started: What to Expect

When you first open your slime, it may be a little sticky or stiff depending on the temperature during shipping. Don’t worry—it’s normal! Slime can be sensitive to changes in its environment, but with a little TLC, it will be perfect in no time.

❓ What ingredients are in your slime?

Our slimes may contain the following ingredients:

  • PVA glue
  • Diluted borax powder (activator)
  • Vegetable glycerin
  • Plant-based food coloring
  • Glitter / Beads
  • Liquid watercolors
  • Air-dry clay
  • Skin-safe fragrance oils
  • Oil-based carrier blends
  • Instant snow (sodium polyacrylate polymer)
  • Styrofoam beads
  • Cosmetic-grade pigment powders

⚠️ Please do not use our products if you are allergic or sensitive to any of these ingredients. Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs.

2. Sticky Slime? Here’s the Fix!

If your slime feels too sticky:

  • Sticky Fix Spray: If you purchased one, use our premade borax spray for an easy fix! Spray your hands and knead the slime until it’s no longer sticky.
  • DIY Borax Solution: Mix the free borax powder (included upon request) with 1 cup of warm water. Slowly add a few drops of the solution to your slime while kneading until it reaches your desired consistency.

Pro Tip: To prevent stickiness, spray your hands with a little barrier spray before playing.

3. Stiff or Hard Slime? No Problem!

Slime that feels stiff might need a little moisture:

  • Add a few drops of warm water. Knead well to soften the texture.

Pro Tip: Go slow! It’s easier to fix stiff slime than to deal with overly sticky slime from too much liquid.

4. How to Store Your Slime

  • Always store your slime in its airtight container when not in use to keep it fresh.
  • Keep it away from heat, direct sunlight, or freezing temperatures to avoid texture changes.

Pro Tip: Store it in a cool, dry place for best results!

5. Play Responsibly

  • Slime is for hands only—keep it away from hair, carpet, and fabric to avoid messy situations.
  • If slime gets on clothing, let it dry completely and gently peel it off. For stubborn spots, soak the area in warm water with a little vinegar.
  • Slime is not edible.

Please do not ingest slime or any borax included with your order. These products are for external use only. We are not responsible for any harm caused by misuse, ingestion, or negligence.

Pro Tip: Supervise younger kids to ensure safe and mess-free fun!

6. Keep the Fun Going

With regular care, your slime can last for weeks! To refresh it:

  • Add a drop of warm water or vegetable glycerine if it starts to dry out.
  • For clear slimes, allow them to rest in the container for a day or two to regain clarity after play.
